Unsere Vorsitzende Lea John reiste 2021 zum ersten Mal nach Ghana, um dort einen Freiwilligendient in einer Schreinerei zu machen. Seitdem hat sie das Schicksal der Menschen dort nicht mehr losgelassen und sie beschloss zu helfen. Dabei arbeiten wir eng mit der Graceland Community and Forest Foundation in Boabeng/Ghana zusammen.
Zusammen setzten wir uns dafür ein, Kindern und Jugendlichen die aufgrund geografischer oder finanzieller Gründe keine Schule besuchen können, den Schulbesuchzu ermöglichen. In der Graceland Community finden diese Kinder ein Zuhause wo sie Kind sein können und auch am Nachmittag gezielt gefördert werden. Darüber hinaus bietet die Graceland Community einen Ort an dem Kinder und Jugendliche aus Boabeng Freundschaften pflegen, gemeinsam spielen und lernen können und die Unterstützung erhalten, die ihnen ihre Eltern aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht bieten können.

Diese Ziele erreichen wir nur gemeinsam - mit und durch die Menschen vor Ort. Our association name also stands for this: "YANA" is the abbreviation for You Are Not Alone. It is a reminder that we do not have to achieve our goals alone and that we can achieve more together. The symbol in our logo is the Sankofa symbol of the Akan, the largest population group in Ghana. It symbolises developing new perspectives for the future from the experiences of the past.

Ghana trip April 2025 - June 2025
In spring 2025, our 1st Chairwoman Lea John travelled to Ghana again to work on current projects on site. The top priority is the completion of the first building of the Graceland Community.
